Long-term goals and policies in the field of preservation and protection of the environment and life and technical and economic considerations have made the issue of replacing and using emulsion bitumen instead of soluble bitumen (such as MC250) and its other grades in the work and technical priority of countries and including the country of Iran.

On the other hand, the surface of main and secondary roads and passages in our country is currently not in a favorable condition. Officials and policy makers are trying to improve the existing condition of roads every year by spending heavy expenses in the budget. But the new methods to improve the situation are not used properly. For many years already, developed countries have improved and improved the condition of their existing asphalts by using superior and modern technology and prevent the waste of their national capital.

In our country, the use of these new and modern methods can save significant currency and Rials, compared to the similar product that is currently still produced in the country (soluble bitumen or MC250) and other grades. It provides many benefits and features to users. In fact, the production of these materials provides serious support for the preservation of national capital and the environment in Iran.

Since about 30% of the ingredients of soluble bitumen (which has been produced and consumed in the country for many years) is made up of petroleum solvents such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel, these materials are used in construction operations and Road construction evaporates and a part of it penetrates into the ground, which causes environmental anomalies in addition to air, land and surface water pollution.

It should be noted that the solvents used in this type of bitumen are only used to increase the efficiency of the bitumen and make it smooth and have no effect on increasing the adhesion and properties of the bitumen.

This is in the case that the current price per ton of solvent in the world markets is over one thousand dollars, and its use in the production of soluble bitumen not only does not increase the quality of bitumen adhesion, it even reduces its quality and causes environmental pollution. A significant part of the country's national capital can be wasted unnecessarily.

If it is noted that the annual consumption of soluble bitumen in the country is currently about five hundred thousand tons per year, of which more than one hundred and fifty thousand tons are petroleum solvents, it can be understood by replacing this product with various types of emulsion bitumen (which In their production, water is used instead of petroleum solvents. In addition to eliminating the environmental problems of one hundred and fifty thousand tons of solvents in soluble bitumens, they are caused by evaporation in the air (and leakage into the ground). They can be prevented by removing such solvents. Over the years, it has created economic savings of over one hundred and fifty million dollars.
